Below are step-by-step instructions for configuring your Webnames.ca hosted Email on your iPhone.
If you are configuring an iPod Touch please note that it can only send Emails when connected to a Wi-Fi connection.
Each iPhone/iPod Touch screenshot is followed by instructions for that page.
1 - Go into your iPhone "Settings" interface
2 - Click on "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"
3 - "Add Account..." > Other
4 - Add Mail Account > Enter Account information
- Name: Your name as you want it to appear to recipients
- Address: Your full Email address
- Password: Your Email account password
- Description: The way you want your iPhone to identify the mail account
5 - Select whether you want to add the Account as IMAP vs. POP, then click "Save"
- The information from the previous page will carry over
- Incoming Mail Server:
- Hostname: mail.yourtdomain.com
- User Name: Your full Email Address
- Password: Enter your Email account password
- Outgoing Mail Server:
- Hostname: mail.yourtdomain.com
- User Name: Your full Email Address
- Password: Enter your Email account password
6 - Once done filling in the all values (including optional ones) Save the account by clicking in the upper right hand corner of the iPhone screen
7 - This will attempt to verify the account information
8 - This initial verification will fail as Apple is set to seek encrypted SSL Mail Services by default – this is fine
9 - You will be advised that the iPhone "Cannot Connect Using SSL" and if "[…] you want to try setting up the account without SSL", to this click YES
10 - The iPhone will try and verify the request again this time without verifying for an SSL encrypted mail account
11 - This will fail a second time and the error message will show that the "SMTP account verification failed" > Click OK

12 - In the upper right hand corner of the screen click Save
13 - You will be advised that "[The] account may not be able to send or receive emails. Are you sure you want to save?" Click Save (again)
14 - The account will be added to the list of account in your iPhone’s mail this way, though it will not work yet
15 - In "Settings" for your iPhone find the account under "Mail, Contacts, Calendar" and select it for editing
16 - Under your Account settings, scroll to the bottom where it says "SMTP Outgoing Mail Server Settings" > Under "Primary Server" Select "mail.yourdomain.com"
17 - Scroll to the bottom and change the Server Port number from 587 to 30
18 - Click back (upper left hand corner SMTP icon) and then back again
19 - Load your mail account in Mail; you will download all messages on the server and will be able to send
