The purpose of this guide is to help you configure your Webnames.ca emails into your mail program on your OS X based Mac. Please note that this guide is based on Mail as it appears in OS X 10.5 Leopard
If you have never used Mail on your Mac before, you will be asked to create an email address as soon as you launch the program, as indicated in the screenshot below. If you already have a mail account on your computer, you will need to use these steps:
- Click on the "Mail" menu, and then select "Preferences".
- Click on the "Accounts" button at the top of the window that appears.
- Click the "+" button at the bottom left side of the window.
This will take you to the screen indicated below; simply enter your name, email address and your password. Remember to replace "yourdomain.ca" with your actual domain name. Click "Continue" when finished.

Next, put in a description for your email account, the description can be anything you like, and will not affect the functionality of your email services. Also, enter the mail server, email address and password as indicated in the screenshot below. Remember to replace "yourdomain.ca" with your actual domain name. Click Continue when finished.

Once your click Continue, Mail will check the mail server using the settings you entered, as indicated by the screenshot below. When you see this screen, you will need to wait a few moments for the connection with the server to be established.

Assuming all of the information you entered is correct, you will see the following screen, and again the description here can be anything you like. Make sure to replace "yourdomain.ca" for both the Outgoing Mail Server and the Username in the screenshot below. Click Continue when finished.

Once again, assuming you’ve entered the correct information, you should see the final screen. It will display the information you have just entered to confirm it was correctly entered. Go over the information, and if it is correct click "Create"

There you have it! Your Webnames.ca hosted emails should not be properly configured in Mail, and you should see your email messages next time you click the "Get Mail" button.
